What this site is
Editorial commentary and buying guidance about home recording and podcast equipment. Our rankings are opinions formed by reading published manufacturer specifications against a rubric we publish in full.
We have not tested the products we write about. We say so on every page and in the methodology, and it is the most important limitation on everything here. Treat our recommendations as a well-researched starting point, not as measurement.
Accuracy, and its limits
Every specification on this site is taken from a published source, and that source is linked next to the figure so you can check it. We take that seriously and we correct errors when they are pointed out — see the editorial policy.
Even so, manufacturers revise specifications, products get replaced without a name change, and sources occasionally contain errors of their own. Before a significant purchase, verify the figure that matters to you against the manufacturer's current documentation. We make no warranty that the content here is complete, current or error-free.
Prices and availability
We do not set prices and we do not sell anything. Prices and availability are entirely the retailer's, and they change without notice. Where a price appears here it comes from a live data layer and expires after 48 hours; the price at checkout is the only one that counts.
